The Julius Baer Art Collection: The finest way to foster talent
Virtual Museum
We have an eye for talent
The Julius Baer Art Collection is directed by a commission composed of company employees who have an interest in art and who are supported by an art expert. The collection is characterized by the works of younger artists who, at the time of the acquisition, were generally unknown. In this way, Julius Baer promotes the preservation of the visual arts in Switzerland.
The collection today contains more than 5000 works that are repeatedly made available for exhibitions.

St. Moritz Art Masters, 24.8. – 2.9.2012
At this year’s St. Moritz Art Masters, Julius Baer will present an exhibition of works by internationally acclaimed artist duo, Lutz & Guggisberg. Andres Lutz (born 1968) and Anders Guggisberg (born 1966) are united by an insatiable, lively curiosity coupled with impeccable professionalism. Their collaboration since 1996 has a produced a great range of works that interweave associations and references rich in wry allusions to the history of art and culture.
Lutz & Guggisberg, masters in the use of a variety of media and materials, will present new video works and sculptures in the Paracelsus building. Their works have previously been exhibited in the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum, Rotterdam (2010), the Centre Culturel Suisse, Paris (2009), at the IKON Gallery, Birmingham (2008), Aargauer Kunsthaus Aarau (2008), Kunsthalle Zurich (2004) and St. Gallen Museum of Art (2002).
Julius Baer’s commitment has seen a highly interesting and representative collection from all areas of Swiss art accumulate over the last 30 years. To coincide with the Lutz & Guggisberg exhibition in the Paracelsus building, Julius Baer will present works by the artist duo from its own collection in the St. Moritz branch. Beginning with the first Lutz & Guggisberg acquisition in 2002, an exciting ensemble of works has grown over the years. The exhibition provides an idea of the broad spectrum of media, the limitless choice of materials, stylistic diversity and the many-layered references to the history of art and culture that are so characteristic of the work of Lutz & Guggisberg.
In 2011 the bank presented in cooperation with the successful Swiss artist Yves Netzhammer one of his video installations at the Paracelsus building as well as selected video works from the banks own collection and therewith granted varied insights in rarely seen works.
