St. Moritz Art Masters
24 August – 2 September 2012, St. Moritz / Switzerland
This year, for the fifth time in succession, Julius Baer was again one of the main sponsors of the St. Moritz Art Masters, which took place from 24 August to 2 September 2012. The diverse programme invited visitors to discover something special: from exhibitions in unusual places to symposia, workshops and conversations with artists. This year Julius Baer presented an exhibition of works by the internationally acclaimed artist duo Lutz & Guggisberg in the Paracelsus building. To complement this, the bank also exhibited works by the duo from its own collection. The Julius Baer Art Lounge was also set up again at this year’s event to serve as a meeting place.
Lutz & Guggisberg – Galaxy Evolution Melody
At this year’s St. Moritz Art Masters, Julius Baer showcased a site-specific installation by the internationally acclaimed artist duo in the Paracelsus building. With an insatiable, playful curiosity coupled with a great sense of professionalism, the artists, Andres Lutz (born in 1968) and Anders Guggisberg (born in 1966) – who have been working together since 1996 – have created a wide range of works that interweave associations and references with ironic allusions to the history of art and culture. Demonstrating their mastery in the use of different media and materials, they presented new video works and sculptures.

Lutz & Guggisberg – selected works
To coincide with the Lutz & Guggisberg exhibition in the Paracelsus building, Julius Baer displayed works by the duo from its own collection in the St. Moritz branch. Thanks to Julius Baer’s commitment, an extremely interesting and representative collection from all areas of Swiss art has been built up over the last 30 years.

Julius Baer Art Lounge
For the second time, the Julius Baer Art Lounge in the heart of St. Moritz provided a unique venue, serving as a place to meet, talk and socialise. The lounge offered the opportunity to take part in conversations with artists, learn about exhibitions and artists, and meet in a relaxed setting.
