	Water For many of us, drinking water is something that we take for granted. And because of that, it is perhaps often traded below its true value. Yet globally, water is a scarce and extremely unevenly distributed resource. Our energy consumption is dependent on water, and a growing global population means that more water is needed and that water is really a heavily-traded commodity.

	The energy transition Our ever-growing thirst for energy and our dependence on fossil fuels is driving up costs and harming our environment. Consequently, people are reassessing what they have learnt about production, and the consumption of energy resources. We are already seeing an increasing shift away from oil towards more efficient and environmentally compatible renewable energy. This transition in the energy sector has opened up a whole new field of investment opportunities.

	Global agriculture A combination of population growth, increasing wealth and urbanisation has caused us to change our eating habits and increased the demand for food. Besides these demographic challenges, the growing importance of alternative fuel and the rising shortage of land resources mean that heightened agricultural productivity is essential.
